Fatty Acid Profiling
Used primarily for testing food, marine, vegetable and nutraceutical oils - results show a comprehensive breakdown of fatty acid methyl esters, including EPA, DHA, Omega-3 and Omega-6.
Method Summary
Our method determines the Fatty Acid composition, including EPA and DHA, of oils in relative percentage values (%) and in absolute (mg/g) values. The esterification of these Fatty Acids to Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAMEs) is performed using an alkylation derivatization reagent.
Methyl esters offer excellent stability and provide quick and quantitative samples for GC analysis. GC analysis provides a comprehensive profile that allows clients to accurately assess the content and profile of fatty acids in their product from them.
